I want to build a completely new PC for around €1,500, with a little flexibility, and I'll be buying the parts in Hungary. I already have a monitor, so the budget is for the computer itself.
My main goal is playing newer RPGs at 1440p with good graphics settings. I'm not chasing extremely high frame rates or minimum input latency; I just want smooth, enjoyable performance. I also plan to dual-boot Linux and Windows, since a few games I play are difficult or impossible to run properly on Linux.
I'm thinking about 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. DDR4 initially seemed appealing because it is cheaper, but I'm open to DDR5 if it makes sense for the budget. Ideally, I'd like the option to upgrade to 64GB later. I don't care about RGB or a fancy case as long as the case has good airflow and is functional.
I've never built a PC before, so I'm unsure where to begin and would appreciate recommendations for a complete parts list or advice on choosing the right platform.

Keep in mind that DDR4 and DDR5 use different motherboard slots, so moving from DDR4 to DDR5 later would require replacing the motherboard as well. A DDR4 system can still work, but most current DDR4 platforms are already a few years old, and compatible motherboards may become harder or more expensive to find. I’d seriously compare the cost of a current DDR5 platform against DDR4 before deciding. Used 13th- or 14th-generation Intel parts could also be worth considering if you find a reliable deal, though check pricing and condition carefully.
Do you think a DDR5 build is realistic within this budget? I initially looked at memory prices and assumed DDR4 would be necessary, but I’d prefer DDR5 if the rest of the parts still fit.
