I'm in Canada and this will be my first PC build, so I'm starting with very little hardware knowledge. My budget is roughly $2,500–$3,000 CAD, though I'd prefer to spend less if possible. I want to play games at 1440p, stream or record gameplay, and edit videos. Ideally, I'd like to reach around 200 FPS in competitive games such as Marvel Rivals, while understanding that more demanding games may run at lower frame rates. What parts or complete build would give me the best balance of gaming, streaming, recording, and editing performance?

For streaming and recording, use the GPU’s hardware encoder rather than relying entirely on the CPU. That usually has a much smaller impact on game performance. A powerful gaming CPU and modern GPU should let you play and record smoothly, but you may need to lower a few settings or use upscaling in Marvel Rivals to stay near 200 FPS.
The $3,000 range may be more than you need, especially if your main goal is 1440p gaming. Frame rates depend heavily on the specific game and graphics settings, so no system can guarantee 200 FPS everywhere. Competitive games are much more likely to reach that target than graphically demanding single-player titles.
A build centered around a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a Radeon RX 9070 XT would be a strong fit for this budget. It should handle high-refresh-rate 1440p gaming well, along with streaming and editing. Just make sure the rest of the parts are balanced with a good power supply, adequate cooling, fast storage, and at least 32 GB of RAM.
That makes sense. I mainly want around 200 FPS for competitive games like Marvel Rivals, and I’m fine with lower frame rates in other types of games.
