What printer is best for printing tests and worksheets for 80 students?

I run a small coaching centre with four batches of about 20 students each. My old printer has started causing problems, so I'm looking for a replacement. I regularly print tests, question papers, assignments, and practice sheets, mostly as PDFs. The page count increases significantly before exams. I'm considering the HP Smart Tank 750 because automatic duplex printing would be useful for longer documents. Would it handle this workload well, or should I choose another type of printer? My priorities are sharp text, reliable performance, and reasonable running costs.

The Smart Tank could make sense if you genuinely need color, since refillable tanks can be economical compared with regular cartridges. However, for mostly text documents, compare the actual cost per page and print speed against a laser model before buying. Duplex printing will save a lot of paper, but the printer also needs to cope with occasional large exam runs without becoming a bottleneck.

If nearly everything is black-and-white, I’d strongly consider a monochrome laser printer instead. It will usually print faster, handle larger batches more comfortably, and avoid the drying or clogging issues that can affect inkjets. Look specifically for a model with automatic duplex printing and a paper tray large enough for your regular workload.

A Brother monochrome laser with automatic two-sided printing would be a practical choice here. For tests and worksheets, laser text quality is excellent and the running costs are generally predictable. Check the printer’s recommended monthly volume rather than only its maximum duty cycle, and choose one with an affordable high-yield toner cartridge.
