I'm looking for a dedicated office keyboard to replace my current full-size Corsair board, which uses silent Cherry switches. I'm moving that keyboard to my gaming setup, so I'd like something comfortable for everyday office work and gaming isn't a priority.
My ideal keyboard would have a 100% layout, wired or wireless connectivity, quiet switches, and a more elegant color or finish instead of plain black. I'd prefer something prebuilt, but I'm open to changing the switches if the board supports hot-swapping. My budget is around $150–$200, though I can be flexible.
I'm considering the Keychron K10 HE, but I'm concerned that it may still be too loud for Zoom meetings. Are there quieter full-size options, and how can I tell whether replacement silent switches will be compatible with a particular keyboard?

A custom build would let you choose every part, including a full-size hot-swap board, quiet switches, and a lighter-colored case. Just make sure the PCB supports standard MX-style switches and that the layout matches the keycap set you want. Silent linear switches are usually the safest choice for an office because they reduce both the keypress sound and the bottom-out noise.
The Cherry KC 200 MX with silent red switches could be a good fit. It’s very quiet for a mechanical keyboard, comes in lighter finishes such as bronze or white, and is often available within your budget. I’d go with a prebuilt board rather than getting lost in the custom-keyboard rabbit hole just for an office setup. If you choose a hot-swappable version, you can still replace the switches later if needed.
That sounds promising. I’m mostly finding listings with brown switches, though. Did yours come with silent reds, or did you swap them yourself?
I’ve built a PC and can handle the assembly, but the number of choices is what makes me hesitate. I’d need to be sure the case, PCB, stabilizers, switches, and keycaps all work together.
