This morning, I noticed a complete line of dead pixels near the bottom of my monitor, and it appeared out of nowhere. The color under the line seems to invert—like yellow under orange and red under blue. What are my options to fix this?

Oh no, that sounds frustrating! A straight line of dead pixels usually indicates a defect in the monitor itself rather than something wrong with your graphics card. Here are a few steps you might try:
• Restart your device and, if you can, connect it to a different screen to see if the problem persists.
• If it's a laptop, attempt to display a screenshot on another monitor; if the line isn't there, it points to a hardware issue.
• Avoid pressing on the area; it won't fix the issue and could potentially make it worse.
• If your monitor is still under warranty, reach out to the manufacturer for support. They often consider a whole line of dead pixels a valid reason for a replacement.

Unfortunately, there aren't really any software fixes for a situation like this—it typically requires hardware intervention.

If you're seeing that line in every color, it's likely your display rather than the GPU. Since you mentioned screenshots don't show the line, that's a good sign. You can also try looking for any firmware updates for your monitor—they sometimes help with display issues.
