I accidentally dropped my iPhone 13 in a puddle that was about 1.5 cm deep. I retrieved it after about five seconds and dried it off immediately. I've turned it off and everything seems fine so far. However, I've read that I should keep it off for 24 hours, but I really can't do that because I rely on my phone for everything including calls, payments, and transportation. It's been an hour since the incident, and while the phone is heating up slightly (which has been an issue for months), the speakers sound clear and the charging port shows no signs of water. Is it safe for me to use my phone now?

As long as there’s no visible damage to the phone that could let water inside, you should be okay. The iPhone 13 is IP68 rated, meaning it can handle being submerged in water for a while. Still, it’s best to avoid getting it wet whenever you can!

I have some nicks from regular use, but the screen and back are fine. My battery health is at 76%, so I hope that’s the reason it’s overheating and not a result of the water. I really hope I didn't mess it up!
