I accidentally spilled protein milk on my laptop keyboard. I quickly flipped it over and wiped it down with moist paper towels followed by dry ones, and I tilted it to drain any liquid. Right now, all the keys seem to be working fine. Is there anything more I can do to prevent damage? I've heard that isopropyl alcohol could be useful for cleaning, but I'm hesitant to pour it directly on my laptop. I noticed some milk on the table dried up quickly. How long should I wait before worrying about any potential damage? Am I out of luck? Thanks for any advice!

Pouring more liquid like alcohol on it could risk shorting out the circuits. I really recommend getting it serviced. At my shop, we've cleaned laptops for people who had accidents like this, and we always took them apart to ensure everything was safe. Just a heads up, even when unplugged, some components can still hold a charge and might cause issues if liquids touch them. It's best to get it professionally cleaned.
Honestly, if it's still working, that's a good sign. But I would back up all your important files just in case. Don’t rely on it completely until you’re sure everything’s clean and dry!
If any milk got inside your laptop, you really need to take it apart and clean it with isopropyl alcohol. It's probably a good idea to take it to a professional for cleaning before it leads to oxidation damage. The sooner, the better!
Can I just pour alcohol on it myself or would that cause more harm? Is it really necessary to disassemble it or can I handle this on my own?

Do you know how long I should wait before I can relax? Like, if it's fine after 5 days, am I safe? I've saved most of my important files, so I'm not too worried, but it's a new laptop!
