What Should I Do If My PC Shut Down While Cleaning a Hard Drive?

I was cleaning my old hard drive using the 'clean all' command in Diskpart, but my laptop unexpectedly shut down because I forgot to plug it in. Should I be worried about this situation, or is it just a matter of waiting it out like usual? I'm not sure what steps to take next.

It really depends on what happens when you power it back up. What exactly were you doing with Diskpart? When you say 'wait like usual', can you clarify that? It’s a bit confusing.

I was running the 'clean all' command, and after rebooting, the screen is the same as before the shutdown. By 'wait', I mean how long it usually takes to clean the drive. It's still showing 100% usage, but I'm not sure if it's still cleaning.

As long as you were only using the 'clean' command, your drive should be okay. However, if you were actually formatting it, you might need to run the clean command again and then reinitialize and format the drive.

In the worst-case scenario, you might just need to format or clean the drive once more, but it should be alright.
