What should I do if my RTX 5070TI was stolen during delivery?

I recently had a delivery driver take a picture of my RTX 5070TI GPU before running off with it. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and navigated the claim process with either Newegg or UPS? I'm unsure whether to file a claim with one of them or both. Any advice would be appreciated!

First, gather any evidence you have, like the photo of the driver with the GPU. It’s a good idea to report this to the police because it’s an expensive item. You should then proceed with a claim with Newegg, as they’re responsible for getting your GPU to you. Having a police report can help smooth the process out with them.

I don’t have any proof other than the photo. I went out to check right after and it was just gone.

Just a heads up, you might have more luck with USPS for deliveries—they generally take these situations more seriously than other carriers!

Always better to be cautious, especially in areas prone to theft. Delivery signatures matter, but they seem to be disappearing with the shift to more casual delivery methods now.

I keep seeing delivery photos and honestly, I think they create a false sense of security. A photo doesn’t really help if the package goes missing. The scan should be enough proof, but I guess it’s better than nothing?

I actually find those pictures helpful! I often have things delivered to my neighbor’s house, and seeing it on their porch lets me fetch it before it disappears.

You should file a claim directly with Newegg since they are responsible for your purchase. They have the contract with the shipper and will handle things from their end. Make sure to provide any evidence you have.

For high-value items, it’s best to require a signature upon delivery to protect against situations like this. It’s frustrating that so many services have moved to contactless delivery without a signature. In the future, consider having expensive items delivered to a secure location instead of your doorstep.

You’re right! It's pretty reckless not to have a signature, especially with valuable packages. I try to always get mine delivered to a pickup point.

You might want to invest in a doorbell camera if porch theft is common in your area. It could be your best defense against package thieves!
