Before starting, check whether that specific OptiPlex officially supports Windows 11. Also download the Dell drivers ahead of time, especially the network driver and any storage-controller or RAID/VMD driver. Some systems won’t show the internal drive during setup unless the storage mode is changed in firmware or the correct driver is loaded. If the machine has multiple internal drives, disconnect the ones you don’t intend to erase so you can’t select the wrong disk by accident.
Use an 8 GB or larger USB drive, and create the installer from a computer you trust. Boot the OptiPlex from that USB and select the clean-install option—not Reset or Repair.
