What should I prioritize to upgrade my 7-year-old PC build?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my current PC setup, which includes an RX 580 GPU, Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM, an EVGA 600W PSU, and an ASRock B450M Steel Legend motherboard. I've been using this build for about 7 years, and its performance has really taken a hit. Now, most of my games are running on low settings at 1080p, barely hitting 60 FPS—I've noticed some drops and spikes during gameplay too.

I mainly play esports titles like PUBG, FC26, and CS2, so I don't need to run super demanding games. I'm considering upgrading to a newer AM4 CPU, like the Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X, for a smoother experience, at least until I'm ready to build a completely new PC. What do you all think should be my priority for this upgrade?

Honestly, the first thing I'd tackle is your RAM. Upgrading to 16GB DDR4-3200 or 3600 and changing it to a 2x8GB configuration will help a lot. This can really boost performance in esports games since the current 2400MHz speed plus having four sticks can hurt your FPS, especially in some titles. Once you do that, consider upgrading to the Ryzen 5 5600—it'll make a big difference in games like PUBG and CS2, just make sure your BIOS is updated first!

I like that suggestion! If I can upgrade my RAM for about $200, that sounds way better than dropping over $1000 on a whole new setup.
