This is my first gaming PC, and I want to keep it running smoothly and reliably without spending much. The current system has a Ryzen 5 1600, ASRock A320M-HDV motherboard, 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM in a 2x8GB kit, a GTX 1060 6GB that I may replace with an RTX 2060, a Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L case, a Vetroo V3 air cooler, a 256GB SSD, and a 1TB hard drive for game storage. Which parts should I upgrade, downgrade, or leave alone, and what would be the best order for affordable upgrades?

For the graphics card, compare the total price of an RTX 2060 with newer options that have at least 8GB of VRAM. The 2060 can still handle 1080p gaming, but its 6GB of VRAM may become limiting in newer games. Upgrade the GPU only after checking your power supply, case clearance, and expected performance gain.
Start by updating the motherboard BIOS, but check the exact supported versions first. If your board supports them, a Ryzen 5 5000-series CPU would be a much bigger improvement than replacing the cooler. A Ryzen 5 5600 is usually a sensible budget choice; a 5700X is worthwhile mainly if you need more cores. Keep the current cooler if temperatures and noise are fine.

Before buying anything, identify the power supply model and wattage since it was not listed. A reliable unit is important when upgrading the graphics card. Also make sure the A320 motherboard has the required BIOS support for the CPU you choose; if it does not, a compatible B450 or B550 board may be necessary. A clean operating-system installation can help if the current system has accumulated problems, and a lightweight Linux setup could be considered if your games support it.
