What to do when my GPU shows artifacts and won’t boot up?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my older PC that has an RTX 3070. I turned it on for the first time in a few months, and I noticed the screen was flashing black with strange green line artifacts when I tried to run a game. I quickly shut it down, thinking a restart would help, but now my screen is completely black and unresponsive. Any ideas on what steps I can take to troubleshoot this?

Make sure your PC is plugged directly into an outlet rather than a power strip with surge protection. Those strips can sometimes cause issues if they malfunction. Also, it's worth checking if the PC was unplugged for too long; leaving it near a power source can help keep some components charged.

First off, try removing the GPU and reseating it in the PCIe slot. Sometimes, bad connections can cause those weird artifacts. It could also be that some components, like capacitors, might've given out if the PC has been off for a while. Worth checking out for sure!
