I upgraded my iPad's operating system overnight, and now it's asking for my passcode, which I can't remember. I used to see a 'Forgot Passcode' option, but now it's gone, and I can't reset my iPad. I attempted the password and email correctly, but it just got stuck on the Apple loading symbol, so I canceled it. Now, my iPad is completely locked, and I have no way to reset it. I really don't want to go to an Apple store. This is my first experience with Apple products, and it's not going well! Any advice?

Unfortunately, once you're locked out, your options get pretty limited. You can only attempt the passcode a limited number of times before you'll need to connect your iPad to a Mac or PC to erase it. Keep in mind, if you haven't backed up your data, wiping the device means losing everything on it. So it's crucial to remember that the responsibility for the passcode rests with you, but it does feel frustrating when things don't work as expected. Good luck!

Thanks for the insight! I didn't realize it was so strict with the passcode attempts. Guess I better make sure to back up next time!
