I just got a GTX 1080TI GPU and I'm now on the hunt for a CPU that can work well with it. I want something powerful enough to make the most of the 1080TI, but I'm also trying to be budget-conscious. For context, I'm currently using a GTX 1060 6GB along with an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X CPU. Any suggestions?

You might want to consider the Ryzen 5600, 5600X, 5700X, or even the 5800X if you want some extra power! They all pair nicely with the 1080TI without breaking the bank.
If you're looking for something simple, the 12100 is a solid choice. It's a good balance of price and performance.
Honestly, any CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads or more from the past decade should do well. Look at something like the R5 3600X or the i5-10600K if you’re going for a budget option.
The Ryzen 5600 should work great, but if you want to make sure your GPU never bottlenecks, you might also look into the 5700X3D or 5800X3D.
The 1080TI has held its own over the years, but it's not as strong as the 3060. I'd suggest checking out some benchmarks; the Ryzen 2600X and 5600X perform quite similarly in many cases. If cost-saving is your priority, sticking with your current setup could be smart!

Thanks for the insight! I’ll probably go ahead and just install the 1080Ti as is.
