We're all familiar with the 9800X3D being a top choice for high end gaming PCs. But I'm curious, what would be a solid midrange CPU option that performs well for gaming at around half the cost of the 9800X3D?

For AM4 setups, I’d suggest the R7 5800X or the R5 5600X for a lower midrange option. If you're looking at AM5, then the R5 7600X is solid.

What do you think about the performance differences between the 5800X and 5600X?

I’ve heard great things about the 7600X!

The 7700 or a 14600K could also be a great midrange choice, especially if you want strong gaming and productivity performance.

Is there a huge difference between the 14600K and the 7500X3D?

CinephileGamer -

Both are solid, but it boils down to specific needs.

If you're considering something more budget-friendly, the older 7800X3D or the new Intel 270K Plus are both good options to look at as well!

There are plenty of choices like the 7500X3D and 7600X3D, and the Intel 13700K is also a decent midrange CPU that performs close to the high-end ones without breaking the bank.

True, plus the 13700K is great for productivity too!

It’s impressive how well it performs at the price!

The 7500X3D is a great pick! It's not the fastest, but still holds its own pretty well. I got it for around 230 euros, which is way cheaper than the 9800X3D at about 450. Definitely happy with the performance!

Yeah, it’s amazing value for what you pay!

I agree! For midrange, it's hard to beat that price.
