What’s a Practical Cloud Computing Project for a Final-Year Project?

I'm looking for a strong cloud computing project idea for my final-year project. I'd like to solve a genuine real-world problem rather than create an artificial project or simply add unnecessary AI. I'm currently short on ideas, so I'd appreciate suggestions for cloud challenges that could be explored and turned into a useful working solution.

If you don’t have a specific idea yet, build a complete CI/CD pipeline for a serverless web application using services such as object storage, a serverless database, automated testing, deployment stages, logging, and rollback support. It may sound simple, but implementing the whole workflow will teach you practical cloud architecture, security, monitoring, and deployment skills.

You could also explore a more research-focused topic, such as security-aware workload placement across multiple cloud providers, fault-tolerant distributed storage, a data-sharing layer across distributed clouds, resource consolidation with live migration, or a platform that schedules GPU workloads as a service. Choose one based on the cloud services and hardware you can realistically access, then define measurable goals such as cost, performance, availability, or security improvements.

MellowPine_27: The multi-cloud and fault-tolerant storage ideas sound especially useful. I’ll compare their scope with the resources and time available to me before choosing one.
