What’s a Reasonable Price for a RTX 5070 Ti Build Right Now?

I'm building a computer for the first time since 2019 and would like something that will stay capable for several years. I'm aiming for an RTX 5070 Ti and 32GB of RAM, but current component prices seem unusually high. Where are people finding legitimate deals, and what would be considered a reasonable price today? I'm willing to wait for a sale, but I don't want to mistake inflated pricing for a good deal. Is paying $1,200 for a 5070 Ti unreasonable when its listed MSRP is around $750?

Micro Center is one of the better places to check for value, particularly because of CPU bundles. Their processor, motherboard, and 32GB DDR5 bundles can reduce the cost of the rest of the build, although the graphics cards themselves usually aren’t dramatically below market price. Prebuilt systems from reputable retailers are also worth checking because manufacturers may still have older component inventory.

This is a particularly expensive time to build, so waiting for sales or better inventory may be sensible. Some people expect excess hardware and AI-related demand to ease eventually, but there’s no guarantee of a major market crash. Set a target price, compare several retailers, and skip the purchase if the current price is well above what you’re comfortable paying.

You don’t necessarily need the newest platform to get a good gaming computer. A reasonably priced AM4 or LGA1700 system with an eight-core processor, DDR4 memory, and a GPU that fits your budget can still perform very well. Even an older high-end CPU paired with something like an RTX 4070 remains perfectly usable; chasing the latest parts at any price is usually poor value.

I wouldn’t consider $1,200 a good price for a 5070 Ti. It may be what the market is charging, but that doesn’t make it good value. The Radeon 9070 XT is worth comparing, especially if you can find one around $699, since it can offer similar performance for substantially less.
