What’s the best $1,000 gaming PC build for high-FPS 1080p gaming?

I'm putting together my first gaming PC with a budget of about $1,000, ideally using new parts from reputable retailers and taking advantage of Black Friday discounts. I mostly play single-player story games, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant. Since I have a 1080p 200Hz monitor, I'd like the build to deliver strong frame rates and make good use of that refresh rate. I initially considered GPUs such as the RTX 5070 or RX 9070 XT, but I realize they may take up too much of the budget. I'm open to whichever graphics card offers the best overall value. What complete parts list would you recommend, and which components should I prioritize?

For this budget, I’d focus on getting the strongest value GPU rather than trying to force in a high-end card. An Intel Arc B580 paired with a reasonably priced modern processor could be a good starting point, especially for 1080p gaming. Put most of the budget toward the GPU, then choose 16GB or 32GB of RAM, a reliable power supply, and a modest SSD. Black Friday discounts could make a higher-tier graphics card possible, but I wouldn’t sacrifice the power supply or motherboard just to reach it.

A Micro Center CPU-and-motherboard bundle might help lower the total cost, and some bundles include a processor such as the Core Ultra 5 250K. However, if the nearest store is several hours away, include fuel and travel costs before deciding whether the deal is worthwhile. Since you’re in Iowa and the closest location is in Kansas, comparing online prices from trusted retailers may be the better option unless you already plan to make the trip.

Do you have a rough idea of how much the bundle and the trip would cost? I’m trying to figure out whether the savings would actually make sense.
