For your ATX preference, is it just for aesthetic reasons or do you need those extra slots? Also, you should know that B650 and B850 boards generally don’t allow PCIe 5 for GPU, which is only an option on B650E boards—though those are more scarce. If you’re looking for USB ports, make sure they support both USB-C and standard connections. Regarding VRM, your 9800X3D isn’t super demanding, so any decent board should handle it well.

Most B850s come with Gen 5 PCIe support for your GPU and typically include at least one M.2 slot, with some X870 boards being competitively priced. Plus, you might save some cash on the CPU too!
