I'm looking to build a new PC setup primarily for 1440p gaming, some light streaming, basic 1080p video editing, and Blender work. I'm considering B650 or B850 motherboards, possibly B650E, and I'm steering clear of the ASRock brand due to concerns about reliability with Ryzen's 9000 X3D CPUs. I want to ensure I choose a motherboard that doesn't have any known issues.

My build includes a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, an RTX 5070 Ti GPU, and I'll be using 32GB of RAM (2x16GB). I'm specifically looking for an ATX-sized board with features like built-in WiFi (wi-fi 6 or 7, though I'm not sure if the added cost is worth it), BIOS Flashback, ample USB ports (including USB-C and both USB 3.2/2.0), PCIe 5 support, and solid VRM to ensure it doesn't overheat.

For your ATX preference, is it just for aesthetic reasons or do you need those extra slots? Also, you should know that B650 and B850 boards generally don’t allow PCIe 5 for GPU, which is only an option on B650E boards—though those are more scarce. If you’re looking for USB ports, make sure they support both USB-C and standard connections. Regarding VRM, your 9800X3D isn’t super demanding, so any decent board should handle it well.

If you haven't grabbed your CPU yet, check out deals on MSI's US store, they've had good offers on B850 and X870 boards. Most B850s come with Gen 5 PCIe support for your GPU and typically include at least one M.2 slot, with some X870 boards being competitively priced. Plus, you might save some cash on the CPU too!
