What’s the best balanced PC build for flight simulators, strategy games, and modern RPGs?

I'm planning my first PC build and want something well optimized rather than an unnecessarily high-end system. I mainly play Microsoft Flight Simulator, Crusader Kings III, and newer RPGs. I'm more interested in strong CPU performance, plenty of RAM, and fast storage than in gaming at 4K, so I don't think I need an extreme graphics card. My budget is flexible, ideally around $1,500–$2,000, and I'm located in the United States. I also live near a Micro Center, so bundle deals are an option. What parts or build guides would you recommend?

Since you’re near a Micro Center, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D bundle could be a great starting point. Its extra cache is especially useful for CPU-heavy games like Flight Simulator and grand strategy titles. Pair it with 32GB of RAM, a fast 2TB NVMe SSD, and a Radeon RX 9070 XT or similar graphics card. That should provide strong 1440p performance without paying for a 4K-focused build.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 250K Plus bundle is also worth checking while you’re there. Micro Center bundles can save a significant amount on the processor, motherboard, and memory, leaving more of your budget for the GPU and storage. For this budget, 32GB of RAM is sufficient for gaming, while a quality 2TB NVMe drive gives you room for large simulators and RPGs. You can always upgrade to 64GB later if your particular Flight Simulator setup benefits from it.
MellowCedar42: Good point about comparing the bundles instead of committing to one platform immediately. I’ll check which option gives the better overall value.

MellowCedar42: I didn’t realize Micro Center had bundle options like that. I’ll definitely compare the 7800X3D bundles and prices on the graphics cards.
