What's the Best Cheap or Free Antivirus for Server 2012R2?

I'm looking for antivirus solutions to protect a few Windows Server 2012R2 machines. We're a manufacturing company that has to keep some legacy systems running, despite how frustrating it can be. We were previously using Sophos, and our reseller gave us a year of Extended Support for free, but now the renewal quote came back at over £10,000 just for that support! It's just too steep for us. So, what's the most affordable antivirus option for these servers?

If you have a Microsoft 365 tenant, consider using Defender for Endpoint. If you don't already have it, setting one up could be a great solution.
