I'm looking for recommendations on good controllers for playing PC games from my couch with a 50-inch TV. I currently have Xbox controllers, but since they only connect via Bluetooth, I'm thinking of getting an adapter to use a 2.4GHz connection. Unfortunately, Microsoft stopped selling these adapters a while back. Are the third-party knockoff adapters from eBay any good?

Don't forget that Xbox controllers can connect to PC via a USB dongle too. I use it without issues, and it can pair with up to 8 controllers at once!
I would suggest waiting for the new Steam controller. It might be worth holding out for something that could offer better features for couch gaming!
I've used Bluetooth controllers on my PC connected to a TV and haven't noticed any significant issues. Have you tried it out yet to see if the latency is acceptable? There are also some great options like 8BitDo and Gamesir, which come with their own dedicated receivers.
I use the Elite Series 2 controller with the official Xbox USB dongle. You can find it for about $20 on Walmart or eBay. It's worked perfectly for me, and I highly recommend it for couch gaming. Just make sure to buy the dongle that's in a white box with 'Xbox' in green. Even if it says it's for Windows 10, it works great with Windows 11 too!
How can I be sure the Walmart one isn’t a knockoff from China?
Does your wireless dongle ever disconnect? I've had mine for years, and it disconnects sometimes.
I've been using an 8BitDo controller and I'm loving it! You might want to check them out for a solid couch gaming experience.

What if I can’t find the dongle anymore?
