I'm building a system for 2K gaming and have chosen the RX 9070 XT for my graphics card. Currently, I've got a COLORFUL BATTLE-AX B850M-PLUS WIFI V14 DDR5 motherboard, and I can still return it if needed. I'm looking for advice on which CPU to pair with my setup. Here are the options I'm considering along with their prices:

- Ryzen 5 7500F – $150
- Ryzen 5 9600X – $220
- Ryzen 7 9700X – $300
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D – $337
- Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus – $285

I've only purchased the motherboard so far and plan to buy the other components after I decide on the processor. I'd really appreciate your recommendations and insights!

I’d say go for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. It’s a fantastic pick for your setup. Just so you know, your motherboard won’t work with any Intel CPUs, so keep that in mind.

I get that it’s an AM5 motherboard, but I can still return it. I didn't open it yet.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D offers the best fps for the price. The Ryzen 5 9600X is great if you're on a budget. If you can swing it, I'd definitely go for the 7800X3D since the extra performance is worth it. But remember, you can’t mix Intel and AMD CPUs with that motherboard.

For those prices, I’d lean towards the Ryzen 5 7500F. It’s a solid choice, and if you have slower RAM, the 7800X3D would help with that. Just my two cents!

If I go with the 7500F, I could get 32GB of RAM. But I’m really leaning towards the 7800X3D and just get 16GB now, then add more later.

While the absolute best choice would be the 7800X3D, you’ll still be perfectly fine with the 9600X if it’s primarily for gaming.

Yep, it’s just for gaming.
