I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to get the most out of my RTX 3050. Right now, I have a Ryzen 3 3100, an ASUS Prime A520M-K motherboard, and 16GB of RAM. I've been facing a lot of issues while gaming and even doing basic tasks. I'm particularly interested in playing CPU-intensive games like Battlefield 2042 and the upcoming Battlefield 6, but my current setup can't handle these games well. I have a budget of around $200, but I'm open to spending a bit more if it means I won't need to upgrade my GPU again for a couple of years. What CPU would be the best choice for me?

With your budget, I'd recommend looking at the Ryzen 5800X, which costs around $160. Just ensure to update your motherboard's BIOS before installing it. Also, I'd suggest upgrading to 32GB of DDR4 RAM if you can fit it in your budget—it'll significantly enhance performance for gaming and multitasking.

That sounds great, but I'm in a third-world country, and the 5800X is priced at around $250 here, plus the RAM is at least $120. So, it's quite challenging for me.

Definitely consider the Ryzen 5600X! It's currently about $185. It's a great CPU for gaming and should give you a solid performance boost with your RTX 3050.

The 5600X runs great, and if you're buying new, keep looking around—you might find it cheaper than $185.

I’m rocking a 10600K overclocked to 5GHz with a 7900XTX. Even the i5 has been performing really well, and it might be worth considering if you can find a good deal on it!
