What’s the Best CPU Upgrade for My MSI B760 Motherboard?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC soon and I'm set on going from an Intel i5-14400F to an i7-14700. I have an MSI B760 motherboard, and I'm wondering if I should get the K, KF, or F version of the CPU. Also, will I need to upgrade my RAM? Right now, I have 32GB of 5200MHz DDR5. Lastly, could anyone recommend a solid 240mm AIO cooler since that's what my case supports? For context, I have an NVIDIA 4070 GPU and a Corsair RM750e 750W 80+ Gold PSU.

The i7-14700 is pretty power-hungry at 219W, so a 240mm AIO might struggle to keep it cool if you're looking to push its limits. If you only plan on running it at 65W, then yeah, you'll likely downgrade its performance. Unless you're gaming primarily on productivity tasks, I’m not sure the 14700 will offer a significant upgrade over your 14400F in that scenario.

My friend has a 14700 with a 240mm and it’s running fine with good temps at max load. The reason I want to upgrade is that my current CPU isn't cutting it for competitive gaming at 240Hz 1080p, especially with CPU-intensive games like CS2 and R6. I usually hit around 180-220 fps, but it feels laggy, which is frustrating when you're trying to compete.
