What’s the Best GPU for My New Gaming Build?

I'm putting together a fresh gaming build and I'm looking for recommendations on the best GPU to use. Currently, I'm working with an AM5 setup and I have an Intel i9 10900K and a 3090 that I'm still using for work. However, this new build is purely for gaming and hobbies. I've heard good things about the new 5080 GPU, especially in terms of value for performance, but I'm not set on it yet. I'd like to know if it's worth the investment compared to other options, especially if pricing isn't too far from MSRP. Here's a quick rundown of what I have planned for my build: ROG STRIX X870E-H motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d processor, 64GB Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM, a Crucial P310 2TB SSD, an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 cooler, and a Corsair RM1000x Gold ATX PSU. What do you think?

When it comes to performance versus value, the best 5080 is simply the cheapest one. While it’s definitely a solid card, if you’re looking strictly at value, the 5070 Ti might be a better option since its performance isn't that far behind for less cash.

Honestly, I’ve seen some sources claiming the 5080 is the best for value, but I think that's misleading. The 5070 Ti is very close in performance at a much lower price, making it a better deal overall. Ultimately, just buy what’s cheapest or appealing to you—performance between the models is pretty similar across the board, and aesthetics can also play a role if you care about that.

If you’re okay dropping around $1000 on a 5080, go for it—it’s likely your best bet. However, the 5070 Ti is a great alternative if you want something cheaper with performance close to the 5080. I just picked up a 9070 XT for $600, and while it won’t match the 5080, it offers good performance for the price and might be worth considering unless you need every ounce of performance for work.

I went for the ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition and love it!
