What's the best graphics card under $300 to pair with an R5 5500 for gaming?

I'm in the process of building a gaming PC and I've got everything except the graphics card. I'm looking for something around $300 that can handle 1080p and 1440p gaming. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for performance, I’d definitely recommend going for a used 6800 XT. It can be undervolted to work within 210 watts and blends perfectly with a modest PSU. I’m using it myself and it runs great!

If you can stretch your budget a bit, I’d say the 9060 XT 16GB is worth considering, especially for better 1440p performance. It might be just over $300, but it’ll hold up better in the long run than the 8GB variant.

For new options, the RX 9060 XT with 8GB is your best bet for under $300. Just be aware that you might need to adjust some textures down in certain games because of the limited VRAM. Really depends on what you're aiming to play.
