I'm using a 27-inch iMac with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, and it has a GeForce 755m GPU. Right now, I'm dual booting with Windows. Is there a Linux distribution that offers comparable or even better overall performance and gaming capabilities than Windows?

I recommend giving Bodhi Linux 7.0 HWE a shot. It's lightweight and should run decently on your hardware without straining the GPU too much.
CachyOS is a great option if you're looking for a user-friendly experience with NVIDIA GPUs. It's particularly good for gaming, with lots of performance tweaks and a supportive community. It’s currently one of the top picks on Distrowatch as well!
Unfortunately, the NVIDIA driver for that GPU isn't supported anymore. You'll probably need to run an older version of Linux that works with the 3.90 NVIDIA driver, or you can try using the nouveau open-source driver, but that one tends to be pretty flawed.

Just a heads up—while CachyOS is cool, starting with more mainstream distributions like Debian might be better for those who don't want to deal with niche support.
