What’s the best upgrade for my gaming PC with 300 AUD?

I have about 300 AUD to spend on an upgrade. My current system has a 1080p 180Hz monitor, an AMD 9060 XT 16GB graphics card, a 550W EVGA Gold power supply, a Ryzen 5 7500F, and enough RAM and storage already. I'll occasionally play on a 4K TV in the living room, and I'm fine using upscaling and frame generation if that helps me reach around 60 FPS in games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Expedition 33, Black Myth: Wukong, and Stellar Blade. At my desk, though, I notice quite a lot of pixelation at 1080p. I've tried downscaling with lossless scaling, which looks better but uses a lot of performance. Should I buy a 1440p monitor, upgrade the power supply, or save the money for a future graphics card upgrade?

I’d save the money unless you find a good 1440p monitor deal. Your current graphics card and processor should be fine for now, while next-generation hardware may make a larger difference than spending 300 AUD on a minor component upgrade.

You could consider a higher-wattage power supply, such as a good 750W or 850W model, especially if you expect to install a more powerful graphics card later. It’s more of a future-proofing upgrade than something that will improve performance right now.

A 1440p monitor is probably the most noticeable upgrade for your current setup. You could keep the 1080p display as a second monitor, and 1440p should look much sharper without being as demanding as native 4K.
