I'm trying to find a quick method to back up all 15,000 photos stored on my Apple device and transfer them to an external drive. Currently, the only method I have is to manually drag and drop each photo, which I want to avoid to save time. Any efficient solutions?

Unfortunately, dragging and dropping is really the only way to do it. However, you could also consider backing them up to iCloud since it's built into Apple devices. Just keep in mind, the free iCloud storage is limited.

If you're using Windows, you can select all the photos by clicking on the first and then shift-clicking the last one. After that, just cut or copy them and paste them onto your drive.

If you're looking for a quicker method, try selecting all your photos at once and then dragging them to your drive. It might save you a lot of time. Another option is to back up the entire .photolibrary file, which contains all your photos—it can be moved to another Mac later.
