What's the Best Way to Delete Data from a Broken Phone?

My phone recently fell and the LCD screen is completely shattered. I can't access any of my data because I can't even input my lock screen passcode. I've already purchased a new phone and I really need a way to wipe all the information from my old phone. Does anyone know how I can do this?

You might want to consider getting the screen fixed temporarily. That way, you can access the recovery menu and perform a factory reset. Just be aware that factory reset protection will kick in, so you’ll need to enter your Google or Apple ID afterward.

If you're planning on ditching the phone anyway, just go old school and smash it to bits with a hammer. That'll definitely ensure no data can be retrieved!

Another option is to throw it in a creek; it’ll definitely be unusable after that! But it’s probably a bit extreme.

Just pop out the battery and proceed with a power drill. Nobody's getting any data from a phone that looks like Swiss cheese!
