What’s the Best Way to Transfer iPhone Text Messages to a Windows Laptop?

I have a large number of text messages that I need to provide to my attorney. Taking screenshots of everything is becoming extremely time-consuming. I use an iPhone and a Windows laptop—what's the most efficient way to copy or export the messages while keeping them organized and readable?

For a smaller section of the conversation, open the message thread, press and hold a message, choose the option to select or forward multiple messages, and copy the selected text into a document or email. This is usually much faster than taking individual screenshots, though it may not preserve the same visual layout.

You can try linking the iPhone to Windows with Microsoft’s phone-sync feature, then copy the messages into Word. However, it may not let you scroll far enough back through an older conversation, so it might not work well for a complete history.

A dedicated iPhone backup and export tool such as iMazing can transfer text conversations to a computer and may be more practical for a large amount of messages. Since these are for an attorney, keep the original phone and make sure any exported files remain organized and unaltered.
