I've been using the openpyxl library for a while, but I always question how to pronounce it. Is it 'open-pixel' or 'open-pie-xl'? 'Open-pixel' feels smoother, but since it's a Python library for Excel, 'open-pie-xl' (where 'Py' stands for Python and 'XL' for Excel) seems more appropriate. How do you all say it in meetings without sounding clueless?

I prefer 'open-pie-x-l' since 'open-pixel' sounds more like an image processing library to me. Plus, I heard the numpy creator switches between pronouncing it both ways when he gives talks—kind of funny!
As the author of openpyxl, I personally say 'open-pixel.' I think it rolls off the tongue nicely!
Thanks for creating this library! I've been using it for an ingestion pipeline, and it’s seriously helpful!
I've been saying 'open-pixel' too until someone pointed out that it gives off a different vibe. Now I go with 'open-pie-excel' because it makes more sense.

Totally! It’s like a pronunciation game. But then again, there’s no hard rule, right?
