I'm curious about how OpenStack is doing these days and what its demand looks like in the current job market and moving forward. I have a solid background in infrastructure virtualization, data centers, and OpenStack, and I've recently transitioned into a DevOps/SRE role. Looking for insights on whether my skills are still relevant!

Honestly, I haven’t seen OpenStack pop up in job descriptions for over ten years. It seems to have shifted more towards infrastructure-related roles rather than being a key DevOps skill now.

Definitely! OpenStack feels more like an infrastructure tool these days.

In my experience, OpenStack is still around but it's mainly found in niche areas now. It's heavily used in telecoms, government clouds, and by big enterprises that need on-prem private clouds. The deployment at CERN is one of the largest examples. However, in general DevOps job listings, it seems Kubernetes and public cloud platforms have taken the lead, so that's something to keep in mind.
