I'm enrolled in an online lecture program, and my access to the course materials will expire soon. I'd like to keep some videos for personal study, but downloads appear to be disabled in the shared drive. I'm not very technical and also wondered whether viewing or saving them can be anonymous. Don’t rely on inspecting the page or trying to extract temporary video links. Those links can expire, and bypassing the owner’s settings may violate the course terms or copyright rules. Check whether the platform has an official offline-viewing feature instead.
If the owner disabled downloads, the safest approach is to ask the instructor or course administrator for an approved offline copy, an extension, or permission to retain the materials. There usually isn’t a legitimate way to make the activity anonymous if you have to sign in, since access may be recorded.
Screen-recording tools can technically capture playback, but only use one if the course provider explicitly allows recording for personal study. Otherwise, ask for written permission first and avoid sharing any copy.
