I'm a bit confused about the differences between FPS (frames per second) and Hz (refresh rate). From what I gather, they aren't the same but are related. I'm trying to figure out the highest FPS and Hz that humans can typically perceive differences in. Specifically, at what point do the differences become negligible? I'm looking for insights to help me save money and choose a monitor that will last a long time, ideally with the best balance between performance and cost.

I recently experimented with monitors ranging from 60Hz to 360Hz, and trust me, you can definitely notice differences across that spectrum. While it might be tricky to tell the exact Hz when looking at a monitor, it's pretty easy to see which one feels smoother, especially in games. Personally, I’d say anything above 144Hz starts to get tough to differentiate well unless you’re a pro gamer or really tuned in to the nuances.

Exactly! Even just a few milliseconds difference can be noticeable to the trained eye, especially from 240Hz to 360Hz.
