When is the Best Time to Upgrade My PC for Discounts?

I'm planning to upgrade my PC but unsure about the timing for the best prices. I'm looking to buy an RTX 5070 TI, a 7 9800X3D processor, and a motherboard for the 7 9800X3D. I've been keeping an eye out for discounts leading up to Black Friday, but so far, the prices have only dropped about $20-$50. Is it worth waiting until Black Friday or Cyber Monday for better deals on GPUs? Or would it be smarter to grab the AMD processor and motherboard during Black Friday? I've heard AMD tends to offer bigger discounts. Any insights or advice would be amazing! I'm located in Australia. Also, I've seen posts suggesting that Black Friday may not be the best time for PC components—anyone have experience with this?

Yeah, like others mentioned, Black Friday is often a letdown for PC hardware discounts. The sales can be pretty scant. I'd suggest checking sites like OzBargain and relevant subreddits for the latest prices. There's usually something popping up during major sale seasons beyond just Black Friday.

Got it, thanks! Is there a specific time of year when PC components actually go on sale? Like summer or any other big sales events? Also, sorry for my English, it's my third language!

Black Friday is often overrated for PC parts. You might find some good deals if you keep an eye on resources like OzBargain and PCPP. It’s a good idea to keep looking and checking in over the next few days to see what comes up!

Honestly, Black Friday isn't that great for PC components. Most discounts on GPUs are minimal—think small rebates or maybe a free game. I'd recommend just buying the GPU at the MSRP if you find one you like. As for the 9800X3D, there might be some deals, but the 7800X3D could really surprise you with a solid price.

Thanks for the tip! How significant is the difference between the 7800X3D and 9800X3D? I've heard the 9800X3D performs just a bit better.

I just saw the 7800X3D listed for around 370 AUD—is that a good deal? The 9800X3D seems to be going for about 600 AUD.
