I'm interested in developing Minecraft mods, but I can't seem to locate the IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition anymore. I came across a tutorial from two years ago that mentioned it was on the download page, but now it's just not there. What's going on?

The Community Edition has actually been integrated into just one version now. So instead of having two separate options, there's just the unified IDE, and you'll need to pay if you want the features from the old Ultimate Edition. It's a little confusing if you're looking for the old version!
Yeah, they merged the versions, so now it's just one app. The core functionality is available for free, but some advanced features require a subscription to the former Ultimate package.
You can find what used to be the Community Edition through the GitHub releases page here: https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community/releases. However, a lot of people seem to be looking for a free IDE without needing the ultimate features, so this could be a decent option if you're on a budget.
