I'm building my first PC and plan to use an Intel Core i5-14400F. There are so many air coolers available that I'm not sure how to choose. What model would be a good option, and are there any compatibility detailsโ€”such as case or RAM clearanceโ€”I should check before buying?

The Thermalright Phantom Spirit is another excellent option. Larger dual-tower coolers like this are especially useful if you want low temperatures and quiet fan speeds, but check that your case supports the coolerโ€™s height and that it wonโ€™t interfere with your RAM.

You donโ€™t need an expensive cooler for this CPU. Most decent budget tower coolers will work well as long as they support Intelโ€™s LGA1700 socket. Compare the coolerโ€™s rated capacity with the processorโ€™s power needs, and verify the caseโ€™s maximum CPU-cooler height before ordering. Noctua models are also durable and easy to reuse in future builds, though they usually cost more.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a strong choice and will handle the i5-14400F easily. It offers excellent cooling for the price, although it may be more cooler than you strictly need for that processor.
