Hey everyone! I'm heading to Microcenter today, and I'm stuck on which AM5 CPU to buy. Here are my options:
* Ryzen 5 7600X for $160
* Ryzen 5 9600X for $180
* Ryzen 5 7600X3D for $200
I'm planning to get the $200 G.SKILL Flare X5 DDR5-6000 combo, keeping my total under $400. My setup includes an Asus ROG STRIX B650E-I motherboard and a PowerColor Reaper 9070 XT GPU, and I'll primarily be gaming at 4K/120Hz on an 85" TV. I'm leaning towards the 9600X, but I've heard that the X3D models perform better for gaming. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, if you're all about 4K gaming, the 7600X is a solid choice for getting the most bang for your buck. The X3D shines in lower-res gaming, but for your setup, the 7600X could offer good value.
If you're mostly focused on gaming, I'd definitely go for the 7600X3D. It's designed specifically for that purpose and should give you the best performance at those higher resolutions.

Thanks for the feedback! That’s what I was trying to figure out. Many articles I read mentioned the CPU isn’t as crucial above 1440p, which is why I was considering the extra $20 for the 9600X.
