I'm planning my first PC build and already intend to use an RTX 5080 with 32GB or possibly 64GB of DDR5 memory. I'm looking for a high-end CPU and don't have a strict CPU budget.
My main uses are gaming, Clip Studio Paint on a separate drawing display for several hours a day, streaming Inzoi with a friend, and eventually getting back into Blender. I also use IDEs for school programming work. Inzoi seems particularly CPU-heavy, so I want something that handles gaming and creative workloads well. I initially considered Intel because of its higher core counts, but I'm unfamiliar with choosing CPUs and would appreciate a good starting point. I can purchase components from either the US or UK.

The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is another excellent gaming-focused option and should handle general creative work comfortably. However, if Blender, streaming, and other heavily threaded tasks become a major part of your routine, a Ryzen 9 model may be the better long-term choice.
I’d also look at the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Someone using one with an RTX 5080 reported smooth 4K gaming with high frame rates and no trouble editing very high-resolution files. It should be a great fit if you want both gaming performance and productivity power.

For a mixed workload like this, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 would be a strong all-around choice. It offers excellent gaming performance while still providing plenty of cores for Blender, streaming, and other demanding applications.
If you plan to game at 4K, the CPU matters a little less because the RTX 5080 will often be the limiting component. A high-end Intel 270K Plus could work well, but the recent Ryzen X3D chips are especially appealing for gaming while still being capable for drawing, coding, and creative applications.
I usually play at around 1440p rather than 4K because of my current monitor, so I’ll compare the gaming-focused and higher-core-count options before deciding.
