Which Free Beginner Courses Offer Certificates for AI, Python, Data, Cloud, or Security?

I'm a second-year computer science student hoping to strengthen my professional profile and show my professor that I'm actively learning. I'm looking for reputable platforms that offer free, beginner-friendly courses and, ideally, free certificates in areas such as AI and machine learning, Python, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, or other useful technology skills. Which courses would you recommend?

Scrimba has some free introductory courses, although certain interactive challenges or certificate features may be limited. You can still practice the code locally in an editor such as VS Code, which is useful for learning by doing.

Certificates can help demonstrate that you completed a course, but they usually matter less than the projects and skills you can show. Try pairing one or two courses with a small portfolio project, such as a Python tool, a data dashboard, or a beginner machine-learning model.

Check whether your public library provides access to LinkedIn Learning. Many libraries include it at no cost with a library membership, and it has courses covering Python, cloud platforms, analytics, cybersecurity, and other technical subjects.

Harvardโs CS50 courses are a solid starting point, especially for programming and computer science fundamentals. You can take the courses for free, but the verified certificate generally costs extra, so check the certificate terms before enrolling.

MellowPine42: That makes sense. I mainly want a few certificates for my professor, so Iโll try to include practical projects alongside them.
