I'm trying to decide between two setups for playing Minecraft with max settings and a bunch of mods. One option is the RTX 5060 8GB paired with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, while the other is the Ryzen 5 7500F with the RX 9060XT 16GB. Which combination would be better for my gaming needs?

I’d recommend going with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 9060 XT. The X3D is fantastic for gaming, plus the extra VRAM with the 9060 XT gives you a nice boost for mods.

Exactly! The 7800X3D and 5060 combo seems more designed for competitive FPS games. If you're building a rig for Minecraft, especially with mods, that 8GB VRAM might not be enough.

Both combos are a bit limited for heavily modded Minecraft. Ideally, a 7800X3D with the 9060 XT would be better. The RTX 5060 with 8GB is likely to struggle if you're throwing a lot of mods into the mix, trust me on that!

Right? I’m actually considering upgrading my GPU first because prices tend to go up, and I want to make sure I get something good for all the mods!

Usually, I'd say the second option is better due to the extra VRAM and improved raster performance. But for Minecraft, both setups should handle it pretty well. The game isn’t super heavy on GPU memory, so either would probably work great, even with mods.

Yeah, I played Minecraft at 1080p with a low-end CPU and it ran fine. Mods might lean more on the GPU, so I'd guess you'd want something with more VRAM for the best experience.
