Which GPU Should I Choose: Astral ROG 5080 or ASUS ProArt 5080?

I'm trying to decide between the Astral 5080 and the ASUS ProArt 5080 for my new build. Is the ProArt version less powerful in terms of raw performance? My setup includes a Corsair RM1000X power supply with a 12v6 connector, and I'm wondering if 1000 watts will be enough to support my system, which consists of an R9 9950X3D CPU, a Samsung 9100 Pro NVME, 2x16GB of 6000MHz RAM, and a high-end AM5 motherboard. I don't plan on overclocking anything.

If you're not set on using CUDA, consider the 9070XT, but if you do need CUDA, the 5070TI is a decent choice too. The 5080 is around 15% faster but often at double the price of the 9070XT, so weigh your options carefully.

I'd go for the cheapest 5080 you can find. There's really no solid reason to pay extra for the ROG version.

The Astral model has sense pins that monitor the power draw on the cable. If you're not planning to get the WireView Pro 2, that feature is pretty handy.

If you're choosing between those two, I'd say the ProArt might be your best bet since it's usually cheaper. I got the Zotac Gaming Solid OC for a great price and it's been really reliable. They make solid cards these days.

I would skip the ASUS tax and look at MSI or Zotac instead. They usually come with more fuses and zero-ohm resistors for better protection.

Get the Astral if you aren't specifically building around the ProArt. Its sense pins are a good feature. Also, grab the ROG Equalizer cable when it drops for extra safety!
