I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5080, 9070 XT, and 7900 XTX for my next graphics card. I want to play games in 4K on my OLED monitor while also doing some photo editing, so I'm wondering how these cards stack up. I've seen lots of comparisons between the 5070 Ti and the 5080, but I'm not sure if the 5080 is worth the extra money, especially since it seems to be priced between $939 and $999. Is the performance boost significant enough to justify spending an additional $100 or $200? Also, should I consider waiting for the 5080 Super instead?

If you're aiming for 4K gaming, the RTX 5080 is clearly the best option here. It's built to handle 4K at higher settings without any hiccups. The 9070 XT and 7900 XTX can definitely handle 4K, but they tend to perform better at 1440p with ultra settings. In my experience, if you want those gorgeous visuals and high frame rates, the 5080 is worth the investment—even if it's just a bit faster than the other two. In fact, I've had good experiences with it, especially in terms of ray tracing.

I have to disagree here. The performance difference between the 5080 and 9070 XT for 4K isn't as significant as everyone claims. If you take the example of FPS—if the 5070 Ti gets 50 fps, the 5080 only gets about 57.5 fps. It's not like there's a magic separating line at 4K, they all perform reasonably well. Plus, all this talk about the 5080 being a must-have for 4K seems exaggerated.
