Which GPU should I choose: RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from a 4060 and I'm torn between the RX 9070 XT and the RTX 5070. The price difference is only $25, favoring the AMD card. My primary goal is to play Monster Hunter: Wilds at high settings and native 1080p, preferably at 144Hz. Here are my current specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x, current GPU: RTX 4060, 32GB DDR4 3200 CL16 RAM, 2TB NVMe XPG S70 Blade Memory, and an 850W XPG Core Reactor II VE PSU. Which one do you recommend I go for?

The 9070 XT is better in every aspect compared to the 5070. Even if the VRAM was the same, it outperforms the 5070 by a good margin, especially at that price. Don't let the VRAM hype fool you!

I'm with everyone here, the 9070 XT is better for the price. It actually competes closely with the RTX 5070 Ti, not just the standard 5070. Just keep in mind you might want to think about upgrading your CPU later since it's the weakest link in your setup!

Go with the 9070 XT! And just a heads up, if you're sticking with that Ryzen 7 5800x, you might find some CPU bottlenecking while playing Monster Hunter at higher settings. Maybe a monitor upgrade is in your future, too, to leverage that power to its fullest!
