I'm in the process of upgrading my old system and planning to swap out my m920s for an i7 8700 with 8GB of DDR4. My current setup struggles even with games from 2013, so I really need a better GPU. I had my eyes on an RX 6600, but the prices are crazy in my area. The two decent options I found are the RX 580 8GB for $100 and the Arc A380 6GB for $130. Given my limited budget and desire to stick to new components with warranties, which GPU should I choose for a more future-proof build? I can't stretch my budget, so please don't suggest alternatives beyond this range!

If it were me, I'd go for the RX 580. It's a solid choice and offers good performance for the price you mentioned, especially since the A380 is more of a niche card. Plus, the RX 580 has a better track record in gaming overall, so you might be happier with that as your main GPU.

Why do you think the RX 580 is better than the A380? Is it just based on gaming performance?
