Hey everyone! I'm looking to gift an old laptop to my neighbor's kid. It's a Casper Nirvana notebook from 2010, featuring an Intel Celeron CPU B815 at 1.60 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM and 4 GB of virtual RAM, plus Intel HD graphics. I'm not super tech-savvy since I'm more of a desktop person, but I want this laptop to help her learn how to use one. What would be a good Linux distribution for this laptop that resembles Windows? Bonus points if it can handle running GTA: San Andreas! Thanks for your help!

I recommend MX Linux. It meets the minimum requirements to run smoothly, plus it’s beginner-friendly. You could also check out antiX and Puppy Linux, as they run pretty well on low-spec machines.

You might want to try Lubuntu as well; it’s known for being great on older devices. It offers a familiar look and feel too!

Bodhi Linux 7.0 HWE should work just fine with those specs. It's lightweight and user-friendly!

Q4OS is another solid choice for low-spec hardware. It's lightweight and has a nice interface that mimics Windows.
