Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming?

I'm setting up a gaming PC that currently has no operating system, and I'm stuck between Bazzite and Pop! OS. As a beginner, which one do you recommend for general use and gaming? I've done some research on both but still feel uncertain about which would be the best fit. By the way, I have an NVIDIA GPU and an Intel CPU, so I'm especially interested in how each operating system handles drivers and gaming performance. If you have other suggestions, I'm open to exploring them!

If you're using an NVIDIA GPU, Pop! OS might be your best bet. The drivers come integrated with system updates, making everything smoother for gaming. Sure, Bazzite's immutability is good, but Pop! OS has the edge for ease of setup since drivers are ready to go. If you're worried about bugs, you can always go with version 22.04, which uses GNOME instead of COSMIC.

Yeah, my main concern is the drivers. I think Pop! OS is what I want since it's user-friendly and the NVIDIA support is solid.

I’d definitely recommend Bazzite! Its immutable design makes it way less prone to breaking. Plus, you don't really have to worry about bugs compared to Pop! OS’s COSMIC desktop, which is still kind of new and can be a bit glitchy. Just something to keep in mind!

Are there any major setup differences with Bazzite? I was thinking of going with an older version of Pop! OS since the desktop environment is more stable.

You’ll find lots of opinions for both distros; the best approach is to try them out yourself and see what runs better on your hardware. Everyone has their preferences among distros like Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, and Debian. I’ve used Ubuntu for 20 years, but my friends swear by Bazzite and others!

That makes sense! I'm leaning towards something straightforward to install, and I've heard good things about Pop! OS for its driver support. Appreciate the feedback!
